TEHRAN, Feb. 05 (Shana) -- Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Hamidreza Araqi said his company has no trouble supplying gas to the domestic sector especially in the northern provinces.
Speaking on Sunday, Araqi said sustainable supply of gas to northern provinces of the country is one of NIGC's chief missions in the next winter, saying the company has no trouble supplying gas to the domestic sector in the present cold snap.
Temperature has decreased dramatically in recent days, leading to record high gas consumption in the domestic sector for heating.
"We are now at the best state possible which is the result of the cooperation of all the people and the officials," he said.
Turkmenistan cut its gas flow to Iran saying Tehran has denied paying for the supplies.
Ashgabat supplied only about 10 million cubic meters of gas per day to Iran which consumes over 700 mcm/d. The exported gas was consumed by northern provinces in Iran.
